One major goal that I have with Glotanicals is to make the case for sustainable products that can seamlessly fit into each area of our lives and to be as transparent as possible in how we are achieving this so that other companies may follow suit. Now, I know many business advisors are likely spitting out their coffee right now reading this saying “What are you doing?? You should be capitalizing on this so you’re the only one doing it and you can make all the money and get all the market share, blah blah”. That may be true for someone whose main goal is to make lots of money and retire on the beach somewhere, but not for me. My goal here is to create a great skincare product that proves it can be sustainable, accessible, and just as good if not better than the non-sustainable products dominating the market today. Why? Because the more companies jump on board with effective sustainability strategies the better off we all will be. My dream would be for every beauty store, grocery store, and everything in between to carry not just one but a multitude of brands that are doing good in the world and not harming it (or their customers for that matter). I can tell you that I and my partners are putting everything we have into Glotanicals to make it a fantastic product and I hope you will love it and use it for years to come, but the undeniable fact is you may not like it. It may not be for you, and that is ok. That’s why there are so many skincare products in the market today, because we like different things. But wouldn’t it be great if you could shop at your local drugstore or Sephora and find many options that are not causing harm to the planet? That’s the dream.
So, no matter where you stand in all of this, whether you are a skincare junkie looking to clean up your beauty routine or are an aspiring entrepreneur yourself I want to openly share the journey I am on with Glotanicals with the ‘Journey to Sustainable Beauty’ series. Each month you can expect a blog post on what is going on behind the scenes in the the product development journey to create a truly sustainable beauty product. I'll be honest with you and share every step of the journey and the highs and lows along the way. I don't want this just to be a one way conversation though. I’ll also be asking you all for your valuable input as well so that instead of just little old me, we are making the dream of sustainable beauty come true together. I believe that there is power in collective energy towards a common goal and I can’t think of a better goal than creating a more sustainable future for our world.
