At Glotanicals we love and appreciate all seasons: from the warm sunny summers in Sydney to the snowy Christmases in New York. What we don't love so much is the dry & parched skin that can accompany all seasons. So, for our friends all across the globe we've created our master list for hydrated skin, no matter which season you're in!
More than skin deep: Hydrate from the inside out
Hydrate, Hydrate, Hydrate! There's no amount of product that will conceal dehydrated skin! Aim to drink at least least 1-2 litres per day. If you're feeling extra parched, try supplementing with natural electrolytes like coconut water.
Eat healthy fats + antioxidants. Your diet has a huge effect on your skin & healthy fats like olive oil, avocado, and almonds provide essential fatty acids that provide the building blocks for healthy skin cells.
Get your hormones checked. If you have persistent dry skin & irritation that just won't budge it's a good idea to get your hormones checked by a hormone specialist to see if there are any imbalances.
Choose a gently cleanser without sulfates. Sulfates [sodium lauryl sulfate] are quite harsh on the skin and often cause dryness & irritation.
Exfoliate no more than 1-2 times per week with a gentle scrub or enzyme peel.
Look for hydrating ingredients in your products like squalane, hyaluronic acid, glycerin, Vitamin E, & jojoba oil.
Try layering your products. Start with a hyaluronic acid serum and top with a hydrating facial oil.
Sleep with a humidifier if you're in a dry climate or in winter. Dry air can seriously suck the moisture out of your skin.
